On June 20 – 24, 2022, the International Institute for Trade and Development (Public Organization) or ITD in partnership with the Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) co-organized the Intensive Training Course on Commercial Diplomacy and International Trade Negotiations at the Sensations room, 4th floor, Novotel Bangkok Siam Square.
The opening remarks was presided by Dr. Darmp Sukontasap, Board member of ITD. Honorably, the training was welcomed by Dr. Rupa Chanda (Director of Trade, Investment and Innovation Division, UNESCAP), Ms. Prewprae Chumrum Executive Director Bureau of Trade in Services and Investment Negotiations Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand, and Mr. Manu Sithiprasasana (Executive Director of ITD).
On this occasion, the training course was attended by 36 participants from 14 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The main objective of this training course is to develop skills and knowledge in the area of commercial diplomacy and international trade negotiations. The target audience are senior officials, senior policy makers, counsellor, and trade negotiators both in public and private sectors that we need to share the information, best practices, knowledge, and experiences together. The value of sharing and cooperation must be maintained and reinforced even after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
