On April 18, 2023, the International Institute for Trade and Development (public organization) organized a research and academic collaboration meeting with a representative from the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET), which has primary responsibilities to advise the Korean government on industrial policy and to conduct research on efficient public and private strategies to enhance national productivity and competitiveness.

The primary purpose of the meeting was to explore ways for collaborative efforts towards bolstering capacity building for sustainable development, with a particular emphasis on international trade, between KIET and ITD. The delegates in attendance reached a consensus to elevate the scope of their cooperation through comprehensive and inclusive measures, such as research collaborations and seminars.

The following individuals were in attendance: Mr. Kim Dongsoo, Director and Senior Research Fellow of KIET, Mr. Manu Sithiprasasana, Executive Director of ITD, Mr. Suphakit Chareonkul, Deputy Executive Director (Academic), Ms. Sirikan Prasertying, Director, Office of International Cooperation., and relevant staff members were also present in the meeting.
