On May 18-20, 2021, the International Institute for Trade and Development (Public Organization) in partnership with the World Bank Group co-organized the Workshop on “Digital Trade and Future Commerce Policy Workshop” via Cisco Webex online platform. The opening and welcoming ceremony was presided over by Mr. Manu Sitthiprasasana, Executive Director of International Institute for Trade and Development and Ms. Birgit Hansl, the World Bank Country Manager for Thailand.

In addition, participants have acknowledged the impact of digitalization as a result of massive supply disruption that forced the world to adopt the Digital Age in full in order to continue the flow of economy, including the implement of e-commerce.
The workshop was designed to bring together government and private sector representatives from the countries in the region to have a common understanding of the digital platforms through policies and regulations at the national and international levels towards sustainable development. There were 57 of both domestic and foreign participants (Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Laos, and Singapore) from policy makers, government officials and stakeholders in the digital trade sector attending the workshop.
