Bangkok, June 25, 2024 – Mr. Suphakit Chareonkul Executive Director, International Institute for Trade and Development, along with Mr. Wimon Punkong Deputy Executive Director (Academic), and other ITD executives, welcomed H.E. Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hye, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand, and Mr. Saroar Ahmed Saleheen, Economic Counsellor of the Bangladeshi Embassy, at the institute’s premises.
The meeting focused on fostering academic collaboration in international trade between the two countries. Both parties expressed keen interest in conducting a preliminary study on the feasibility of establishing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Thailand and Bangladesh. This prospective FTA aims to benefit stakeholders by enhancing trade relations and economic cooperation in the future.
